Thank you for reporting this issue. The team are aware of the climb down option missing for ladders and I will add your details to the report I have on this issue for them so they’re aware it has been reported recently by a player.
In the meantime, though you may have tried this already, players reported that where possible if they could jump into the water from the top of the ladder, they would not recieve broken bones.
