When a storm blows in it could effect player health over time the same as hot sun. Could this be linked to the SPF bar? Stay out in the storm and the bar lowers just like it does in high UV, with the player losing health once bar is 0. This would give more incentive to build and use shelter. Staying in the storm long enough to lose health could also have a low chance of getting sick, getting sick could prevent you from getting healthy status. Thus you would need antidote or something before you can attain healthy status to regen health.
Sleeping in a bed in a plank hut could give some food and water drain resistance vs sleeping in a basic shelter.
Adding items to tool belts could remove them from basic inventory so it gives you hot keys and more inventory space.
