Playing on PS4 most current update. Is there no way to use the compass while using the Rudder when youre sailing?
Nope, have to let go of the rudder to look at the compass.
Just drop the anchor before you let go of the rudder so you don’t keep moving or get knocked around by sharks.

You can just place the compass on the floor next to you and look down at it but it might slide off your raft
I took a break from the game after playing it for several years… Im super happy with some of the changes. I just cant believe that isnt one of the things they upgraded. Thank you.

What do you need a compass for? Current always flows north to south. Sun and moon rise in east and set in west. Study the cartography and look at surrounding islands. Go square to square until you know your area. Toss that compass in the ocean.
