It would be interesting if the character could change clothes during the course of the game. It would be another lot scattered across the islands to be found, or to create at a weaving stall.
Different clothes, from basic to the strongest or most sophisticated, scattered around the islands or in shipwrecks, would certainly be something more realistic than seeing the character with the same clothes all the time.
