Sorry for my delay in responding to your messages. Can you elaborate on what you mean by your cartographer wasn’t the same as your previous save? When this occured, was all the progress in the map reset as well as your character? Did this occur on loading into your pre-existing save? Please note that the seed number for the slot affects both the single player and multiplayer save of that slot.
Unfortunately I do not have any updates on the next patch for the game or when it’ll be released at this time. If this is indeed the same as the previous “cleaning up” issue, them I’m afraid there is a very high chance that a fix for this will not restore an affected save.

With regards to the “Cleaning Up” load phase, all of the current information is included in the top post. The team are currently working on the next update for the PS4/XB1 version but we do not have confirmation on the contents of the update at this time. If you are experiencing this or any other issue please submit a new bug report with as much information as possible and I will respond as soon as I can.

I just defeated the squid, my final boss, got the trophy and propeller part, saved on my raft with the sleeping bag and my game just froze…not went to the blue error screen for PS4, but just froze. NOW, I can’t even load my save. Thank god I had already pretty much did everything and can watch the takeoff from the carrier online, but now when my game loads it just continually slips back and forth on the loading bar but never loads my actual game. My biggest disappointment is that I’ll never be able to load the three story house I built over the past 2weeks. This game is buggy as hell and while the “no interactivity” bug was fixed after a month or so, this happens…like I said, I’m just glad the only thing left to do after the squid was take my last part to the carrier and take off. Otherwise, I’d probably sue for loss of time…

Game just updated to 2078 on xb1. Tried to save from the sleeping bag and save hung. Waited up to 10 minutes and gave up and quit the game. Tried loading my save but game stops loading at the Cleaning Up stage - load icon spins continuously and never finishes. I’m up to day 77 - is there hope to resurrect my saved game?
Same crap here more problems than what they fix

I am sorry to hear that this issue has occured after you have updated to version 2078. I have alerted the team so they can investigate what may have caused this to occur.
In the past the team have stated that fixes for game saves stuck in the “Cleaning Up” phase cannot be restored but further fixes would prevent them from happening again. It is my understanding that this is still the case.
When your games hung when saving, hand anything dropped through the map or any other issue occured in the save before you saved your game?

Nothing out of the ordinary in my case. Dropped a sleeping bag on another island and attempted to save the game but that hung. Quitting and reloading the game was when I ran into the stuck on Cleaning Up issue.

I am also experiencing save issues since the update yesterday.
Single player.
Was on a new game, about 10 days in.
Went to new island, created shelter, tried to save and game froze. Sat there at least 10-15 minutes.
Restarted game, would not load.
Stuck on “cleaning up”
Started new game in new save slot.
About 4 days in went to new island, same exact thing.
If I cannot go to new islands and save, the game is unplayable.

I’ve informed the team of this issue occuring for players after the 2078 update and they are investigating. Please let me know…
- When you saved after getting notificiations on the left hand side of the screen (errors or otherwise)
- or, If you left for another island and then saved there.
Please also include what platform you are playing on and if you are playing on a new save or one updated from 2074 or earlier.

Tried to save, game froze tried to load it back up and now I’m stuck With the cleaning up BS this is crazy I was only on day 26 I can’t imagine being on day 100 or something you need to get ahold of this save glitch and get everyone’s saved back this is ridiculous honestly
